Romance ?

The music from the pub still echoed faintly in their ears as they stepped into the room.

For the first time that evening, there were no crowds, no laughter, no distractions—just the two of them.

She glanced at him, unsure of what to say. The confidence she'd carried all night suddenly felt fragile beneath his steady gaze.

"Tonight was unexpected," he said with a small smile.

"Unexpected good or unexpected bad?"

"Definitely good."

A soft laugh escaped her lips.

For a moment, neither moved. The air between them felt charged with possibilities, filled with all the things they weren't quite ready to say aloud.

He opened the door and held it for her. She paused at the threshold, her heart beating faster than it should.

Then she stepped inside.

The door closed behind them, leaving the rest of the world outside.

The tension was high as both of them stared at eachother.

"Married?" She asked.

"Yeah, for Nine years now." He replied

She nods starting to unbutton his shirt .

"Likewise" she replied.

As she leaned upward to match his height he grabbed her waist and pulled her up against the wall and crashed her lips.

She unbuttoned his shirt as he threw it off completely tugging at her bottom wear as he already undid her top.

They rested thier foreheads against each other breathing heavily as he whispered "Kids?" . " None" she replied. "What about you ?"

" Likewise" he whispered this time as they attached their lips again.

His tounge exploring hers as he is been hungry for years as she replied with the same desperation.

"I couldn't take my eyes off you when I saw sitting by the bar all alone hot and messy" said he now lifting her up completely he gently threw her on the bed. She bounced back but laugh softly as she said "

"I'm  getting bored of my 9 years of marriage also so came to find a little bit of joy outside world and got you" she tugging him to herself as she started unhooking his belt as waited patiently and smirked.

He nods " ofcourse I can give you everything that husband of yours can't."

As he pulled out a condom from his pocket eyeing her pussy as he was habituated to it . She also thier legs open , bold waiting to be filled up as she has done this uncountable of times.

As he entered her in one go.

"Sur- " as she started her phone rang on side table.

They glanced at each other as she received her call.

" What? Abhi? Ohk use ready kro i m coming in 30min" she said while searching for her bra.

As he sat there looking at her astonished.

" Mat jao na " he pleaded while hugging her waist.

" Chal ja ab mere liye khana bana." He said.

She nodded timidly while adjusting her saree as she was about to go out of the bed but she felt herself pulled back by her hair as she screamed " Ahhhh" .

" Zuban kaha gayi teri ? " Asked he as hi fisted her hair in his palm.

" Ji-ji abhi banake lati hoo" she whispered stammering while he nods with a scoff leaving her hair.

" Ja jaldi kar. Mere pass time nhi hai kisi k jaise din bhar Ghar baithe time pass karne ka. Kam pe bhi jana hota hai and aaj ek bohot important meeting hai." He barked at her while leaving for bathroom.

Hot tears slided down from her cheeks as she wiped it with her hands limping towards kitchen to cook.

"  Hum bohot yaad krte tumhe. Tum sahi they" she whispered to herself as she looked through the window while thinking about someone specific.

..........

The clock on the bedside table read a little past 2 a.m. when Akshi finally stepped into the apartment.

After nearly four hours at the hospital and an emergency delivery that had kept her on her feet all night, exhaustion weighed heavily on her shoulders.

She quietly slipped off her shoes and made her way to the bedroom, careful not to make any noise.

The sight that greeted her instantly brought a smile to her face.

Aarav was fast asleep, sprawled across the bed like a child. One arm was wrapped around her pillow, holding it tightly against his chest as if it were the only thing keeping him company.

His hair was a mess, the blanket tangled around his legs, and his expression was completely peaceful.

Akshi couldn't help but shake her head.

"Thirty-two years old," she whispered to herself, "and still sleeps like a baby."

She sat on the edge of the bed, gently brushing a few strands of hair away from his forehead.

Aarav stirred slightly but didn't wake. Instead, he pulled the pillow even closer, making her laugh softly.

"Missing me that much?"

The apartment was silent except for the faint hum of the ceiling fan.

For a moment, all the stress from the hospital faded away.

No monitors.

No emergency calls.

No anxious families waiting outside operating rooms.

Just home.

Just him.

A warmth spread through her chest as she watched him sleep.

Carefully, she lay down beside him.

Almost immediately, Aarav shifted in his sleep and instinctively moved closer, one arm finding its way around her waist.

Akshi smiled and closed her eyes.

After a long night spent bringing new life into the world, there was nowhere she'd rather be.

Morning sunlight slipped through the curtains, painting the room in soft shades of gold.

Neither of them seemed eager to leave the warmth of the bed.

Akshi rested her head against Aarav's shoulder while his arm remained wrapped comfortably around her. The world outside was slowly waking up, but inside the room, everything felt calm and unhurried.

"You're awake," she whispered.

"So are you."

A small smile appeared on her lips.

For a moment, they simply stayed there, listening to the distant sounds of the city and the steady rhythm of each other's breathing.

"I like mornings like this," Aarav said quietly.

"Me too."

"No emergencies. No deadlines. No rushing around."

"Just peace."

He tightened his embrace slightly, and she settled closer, feeling safe in the familiar warmth.

"You know," she murmured, tracing lazy patterns on his hand, "for the first time in a long while, life feels... peaceful."

Aarav looked toward the sunlight filtering through the curtains and smiled.

"It does."

The room fell silent again, but it was the comfortable kind of silence—the kind shared by two people who didn't need words every second to feel connected.

Outside, the day waited for them.

Inside, they remained wrapped in each other's arms, savoring the rare gift of a quiet morning together.

Wrapped in the warmth of each other's embrace, Akshi and Aarav believed they had everything they needed.

The morning felt ordinary in the best possible way—filled with comfort, laughter, and the quiet certainty that tomorrow would look much the same as today.

Neither of them noticed how fragile that certainty truly was. Beyond the walls of their peaceful home, fate was already setting unseen pieces into motion.

A chance meeting, a single decision, and a series of moments yet to come would soon send ripples through their carefully built world.

But on that tranquil morning, with sunlight spilling across the bed and contentment resting between them, they remained blissfully unaware that the greatest storm of their lives was already drawing near.
